Director, Business Development.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of the agency’s pitch process, capabilities, culture and competition
  • Analyze and ultimately optimize existing agency pitch process and approach
  • Agency point for new business inquiries, leading the new business team to evaluate all opportunities
  • Manage the internal opportunity/RFP and pitch response process
  • Partner with pitch team, lead the presentation and overall pitch development process including working with the team to develop strategies, optimize story flow throughout the presentation, and take point on final presentation deliverable
  • Actively build and foster relationships within the rare disease space, seek opportunities for CB to share our capabilities and ultimately be invited to pitch for AOR work
  • Chair the standing new business team meetings. With the assistance of the new business team, optimize our tracking system to the salesforce platform.
  • Work with the new business product manager to ensure pitch team maintains project timelines
  • Partner with finance to evaluate business development statistics – investment, win rate, etc – present and provide recommendations to the management team
  • Partner with management team and account team on any existing client new business needs
  • Hire and manage associate new business manager
  • Manage internal agency PR and promotion (led by the associate manager). Ensure agency initiatives are targeted and relevant to client needs.
  • Partner with Ashfield business development leads to acquire new commercial opportunities for CB

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of agency experience (healthcare/pharma is required)
  • Proven experience running complex engagements and cross functional teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong strategic and functional problem-solving skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organization and negotiation skills
  • Self-directed, goal-oriented, results-driven personality with a commitment to continuous improvement
