Position overview

Junior copywriter is an entry-level role that lays the foundation for progression as a writer within our dynamic creative team. A successful junior copywriter will gain understanding of clinical information, brand messaging, and claims, and apply this understanding to create a disease or brand story for our clients.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a creative thinker, have a love for language, be comfortable delving into scientific material, and be able to embrace the details. This person will also enjoy a fast-paced environment and be flexible, easily adapting to changing priorities.

Therefore, this role requires close collaboration with other departments and disciplines, including art, medical, and digital, as well as account and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior copy team members with annotations and edits on digital and print projects
  • Collaborate with art and other partners to revise tactics and, as skills progress, develop new ones
  • Communicate clearly with team regarding creative ideas and copy deliverables
  • Attend status and other regular meetings as needed
  • Proactively manage and follow through on assigned projects

Reporting and team

  • Reports to a copy supervisor
  • Supports other copy team members as assigned

Skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and/or experience in a related field (advertising, writing, healthcare, pharma, public health, science)
  • 0 to 2 years of relatable or transferrable work experience or areas of study (advertising/digital/writing/scientific)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat
  • Knowledge of User Experience (UX) principles a plus
