Position Overview

The Management Supervisor (MS) leads agency teams on one or multiple accounts to ensure existing business is successfully managed and grown.  They collaborate with the brand Senior Leadership Team to develop the overall strategic plans and objectives for the account(s).  The MS also manages/ mentors junior team members on strategy development, presentation, and implementation of various projects.  They play a central role in business development and agency management.  This is a senior position within the agency; it requires leadership and superior communication and problem-solving skills.  Strong digital acumen and experience developing, and leading multi-channel campaigns is a must.

Candidate should be Boston-based.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with agency partners to drive integrated strategies
  • Actively participates in the development of copy strategy/positioning
  • Has or can quickly develop a solid understanding of business category trends/developments, and uses this insight to add strategic value to the overall account and to individual projects
  • Ensures alignment between issues, strategies, and tactics
  • Builds commitment to strategy/process within the agency and brand teams
  • Seeks innovative strategic solutions that surpass common practice

Creative/Branding

  • Deeply understands brand insights, customer segmentation, and target needs
  • Steers actionable creative briefs and works with creative team in the evaluation of strategy and execution
  • Frames key issues facing the client(s) and develops recommended approaches

Digital

  • Has experience working with large brands on multi-channel, US and global campaigns
  • Well versed in social media, mobile programs, email communication plans, and web analytics tools
  • Serves as bridge between brand and digital to ensure cohesive strategy, metrics, and analytics story
  • Works with digital strategy and analytics partners to recommend digital strategy and targeted multi-channel marketing programs for clients that help them successfully build profitable, long-term relationships with their customers
  • Collaborates with digital team to ensure all digital programs have clearly defined metrics to evaluate success and continuous, measurable improvement in client campaigns

Driving the Business

  • Maximizes Agency revenue; views the larger financial picture and understands impacts on contribution margins and revenue targets
  • Leads cross-functional teams across agency, client and other business partnerships
  • Delivers results-driven ideas grounded in sound strategic thinking, considering the client business needs and challenges
  • Identifies business development opportunities; fosters and generates proposals for incremental business building
  • Supports client(s) in forecasting and development of the budget
  • Leads or supports new business pitches, as needed

Client Relations

  • Develops and maintains excellent client relationships; establishes trust, credibility, and respect of client
  • Creates a visible/ influential presence with, and effectively represents agency POV to clients
  • Effectively leads both account and brand teams
  • Initiates partnerships with internal teams to manage priorities, schedules, and deliverables
  • Travels with/for client as needed

Management/Leadership

  • Maintains and supports agency management in maintaining a strong, valued presence with clients and within agency
  • Ensures adherence to standards of excellence
  • Coaches and guides junior team members on identifying, planning, and managing key deliverables, activities, budgets, and deadlines for individual projects
  • Appropriately counsels’ staff on internal and external issues
  • Monitors and evaluates performance of staff (identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for development); does timely and actionable personnel reviews
  • Identifies and helps resolves people/departmental conflict situations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7-10 years of medical marketing or healthcare agency management experience
  • Proven track record of successful client relationships, team building, revenue growth, creative problem solving and team leadership
  • Expertise in digital (search, site, mobile, social, analytics, various other platforms)
  • Strong communication skills, excellent writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, initiate change, and collaborate across groups
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Comprehensive, strategic and systematic thinker
  • Ability to anticipate needs, changes, problems
  • Must be able/ willing to travel 25%
