You will be responsible for medical strategy as an integrated partner in the development of brand strategy, creative work, and tactics. You’ll lead medical strategy on new business initiatives and mentor junior team members. You’ll support department growth, new capabilities, offerings, and partnerships in ways that align with the future of healthcare marketing and communications.
Reports to Head of Medical Strategy
Directs and oversees medical strategy across multiple brands and therapeutic areas
Oversees core team medical members as resources and accounts dictate
Co-responsible with brand leadership and strategy teams to develop a brand strategy, tactical planning, identify organic growth opportunities, and manage client relationships at the brand level
Works with the business unit leadership team to support the identification of new business leads and lead medical strategy on new business pitches
Lead on medical client relationship management at brand level; co-lead on commercial client relationship management at brand level
Supports growth of medically focused initiatives and deliverables
Supports Head of Medical Strategy in general management and in developing internal initiatives and cross-functional partnerships
In partnership with Head of Medical Strategy, drives efforts to grow the medical offerings and capabilities, as well as initiatives and programs to develop and maintain cross-agency medical competency and industry knowledge
Keeps abreast of industry developments and trends and how they impact our work, our clients, and potential for new opportunities
MD, Ph.D., PharmD or equivalent graduate degree
7+ years of industry experience (promotional strategy, marketing, strategic medical affairs and/or communications)
Experience mentoring and managing others
Takes initiative and is proactive in supporting both client and internal teams
Enjoys and thrives working in a creative workplace
Experience in rare diseases, oncology, or other specialty therapeutics a plus
Knowledge of the regulatory environment in health care a plus
